Located on the Big Island of Hawaii, Hydrangea Cottage and Mountain House offer elegant vacation rental and bed and breakfast style accommodations and lodging just up the road from the entrance to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

Within the Park there are several scenic routes that may be driven by car. There are also many day hikes, as well as multi-day wilderness trips available. Additionally, Park Rangers offer an array of scheduled nature walks.

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and it some encompasses 230,000 acres ranging from sea level to the summit of Mauna Loa at 13,677 feet. Puu O'o Vent, on the flank of Kilauea, has been erupting continuously for 17 years.

Volcano Village, at an elevation of 3700 feet, sits at the entrance to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The Village offers two general stores, gas stations, post office, shopping, museums, dining and an 18 hole golf course. The Village is centrally located on the Big Island of Hawaii between historic Hilo, the resort area of Kailua-Kona and the gentle slopes of Waimea.
